Ida Hung has been a member of the WeatherFlow team since March of 2021. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ida developed a passion for weather at a young age while watching thunderstorms from the window. A fascination for Prairie winters when the wind chill index can drop to -40C or lower only cemented her interest in meteorology. Ida attended the University of Manitoba where she obtained both a B.S. and M.S. in Atmospheric Science. Ida relocated to Toronto, Ontario in order to begin a career in weather research. In Toronto, she also continued her education at Ryerson University studying programming.
Ida has been with The Weather Network since 2019 as a forecaster, briefer, and video meteorologist. When not forecasting, Ida enjoys rock climbing, canoeing, boxing, hiking, and baking.
